Riding in the new year

We have a ride this Sunday!

It kinda snuck up on me with all the holiday distractions. This Sunday’s route is a hilly and scenic route to the northeast I call the Pylesville Winter Warmer. It’s 92.4 miles with 2 short stretches of unpaved road and 7400ft. of climbing. Lunch will be at Amoroso’s.

Here’s your details:
Date/Time: Sunday, January 5th. 7:15AM meet up, 7:30AM push off.
Start: Lake Montebello MAP (south corner by parking lot)
Route Map and GPS files: PYLESVILLE
Cue Sheet: CUE

This route is shorter than most Rambles. However, be prepared for a hilly ride, cold temps and be sure to have effective night-time lighting.

Earlier this month, we had a great ride down to DC to grab a Guinness (or two) at Fado’s. The weather turned out to be quite lovely and everyone was physically up to the task. Several mechanicals, numerous city traffic stops, a busy restaurant, and a return headwind slowed the group down so much that we had to put in a couple hours of riding in the dark. We all stuck together as a nice group though. Thank you to Mike, Dave, PJ, Ben (riding his retrodirect drive bike), Sam, Eric, Esther and special guest, Barry.

    Hey Y’all,
Tomorrow’s ride weather is looking poor, however, I WILL be at the start at 7:30AM. I’ll be ready with studs on and set to ride whatever seems right. There are always options for shortcuts if it just gets too miserable. Best. -Bob
